Happy Holidays! I don’t know about you, but on lazy Christmas mornings, I love putting out a spread of easy to eat foods that my kids (and me too!) can snack on while we take our time to enjoy the magic of Christmas morning.
Make Holiday Mornings Easier
I got this idea from another blogger, Val @lovelyluckylife, and we’ve used it to make our own versions of fun family charcuterie boards for a few recent holidays. We made an Easter brunch board with hard boiled eggs, fruit, sliced ham, and of course, some chocolate eggs!
Here is an example of a board our family ate last Christmas. In my family growing up, my parents would host a big Christmas Eve party—open house style—with heavy hor d’oeuvres (and lots of cookies). We always had the leftover Christmas cookies to snack on while we opened gifts on Christmas morning and I loved that! So, I made sure to make some space on our brunch board for some cookies to carry on the tradition with my family!
In addition to the cookies, I also added fresh berries, cooked chicken sausage, cheese cubes, and sliced muffins and donuts.
Prep Ahead
I prepped the board the night before by cutting up the muffins and donuts, slicing the cheese, and washing and preparing the fruit. I set the fruit in small bowls since they were a little damp after washing and covered in the refrigerator overnight.

Enjoy Holiday Magic– without Hanger!
In the morning, while our kids passed out everyone’s gifts and played with their Santa gifts, I assembled the board and heated up the chicken sausage. I gave each family member a plate and some little food picks that my kids love to use!

I hope this idea helps make your holiday mornings a little more joyful and brings you more peace (and hold off the hanger!) Happy Holidays!
